New Océ PRISMA software enhancements bring color and advanced production support to transaction and graphic arts environments
With the growing need for high speed, high reliability production workflows, Océ PRISMA software solutions have been enhanced to add advanced color support, high-uptime options, even better integration and interoperability. The new Océ JetStream , Océ ColorStream 10000 and Océ VarioStream 8000 families announced at the innovation show on 6 December are complemented by the leading-edge capabilities of Océ PRISMA workflow software. Océ is once again proving its leadership in efficient, integrated workflow solutions that are tailored to our customers' manifold requirements in both the commercial and the corporate print environments.
Expanded capabilities for color support
Océ PRISMAproduction Server now offers full support for color applications in virtually any environment. Flexible and fully scalable, PRISMAproduction addresses requirements from single-server configurations to unlimited multi-server/client environments, all with customized workspace sessions to maximize usability. Océ PRISMAproduction Server delivers highest performance and quality for transpromotional and Graphic Arts workflows, including processing of full-color jobs for the new Océ JetStream and Océ ColorStream 10000 presses. It also supports special features such as Océ CustomTone® color toners for the new Océ VarioStream 8000 series.
Furthermore, PRISMAproduction Server offers an interconnectivity solution which enables unparalleled data security. With the ability to mirror complete production environments at a second site, our customers gain utmost productivity and reliability.
New accounting functionality provides visibility into all areas of document production operations to gather accurate, up-to-date intelligence about jobs, users, devices, media and consumables without interrupting the production run. Océ PRISMA Accounting software, a component of the Océ PRISMAproduction output management solution, makes it easy to track, measure and quantify performance across the production floor.
Better preparation, interoperability and proofing
A raft of enhancements for Océ PRISMA software modules makes Transaction and Graphic Arts workflows more effective. Users can manage, convert and direct digital print workflow more easily, achieving greater productivity and cost savings.
Streamlined document composition
The Océ Document Designer Advanced software offers full support for the new Océ JetStream, Océ ColorStream 10000 and Océ VarioStream 8000 systems, giving users complete flexibility to manage and maintain mixed-print platforms. Part of the Océ PRISMA suite of prepress tools, Océ Document Designer Advanced is a comprehensive document composition tool that streamlines document design, preparation and prepress for maximum workflow efficiency. It accelerates time to market for new applications such as the fast-growing TransPromo segment and personalized print-on-demand, and also manages all the challenges of traditional variable-data and transactional applications.
Digital proofing
Another Océ prepress tool, Océ TrueProof? electronic viewing software, can verify B/W and color jobs up to 3/3 for the whole range of Océ VarioStream systems, including the new VarioStream 8000. Océ TrueProof eliminates time-consuming paper-based verification and proofing steps. Users can view page images on screen exactly as they would print on high-end digital printers, without requiring a production printer to be set up and run just to view a hard-copy proof. Users benefit from rapid create-edit-revise cycles that dramatically improve productivity and profitability.
Enhanced connectivity tools
Customers with Xerox? workflows can now enjoy full interoperability with Océ environments. Joining the established Xerox connectivity tools DPconnect for DigiPath™ and FreeFlow™ workflows, and DPconvert for RDO file processing – both of which now support all DigiPath and FreeFlow make-ready versions – the latest addition to the suite is Océ VPconvert for converting Xerox VIPP? data. Combined with existing LCDS support, this enables customers with Xerox workflows to take advantage of the high speed black & white and color features of the new Océ JetStream , Océ ColorStream 10000 and Océ VarioStream 8000 systems.
Taking the interoperability of its software solutions to a new level, Océ has implemented JDF/JMF support and now accepts and processes PPML data streams. Furthermore, with the new AFP to Postscript converter, PRISMAproduction can now drive virtually every Postscript or PDF printer.
