Océ ColorWave 600 printer mottar IDSA Bronse
Innovative Océ printing system and technology wins ninth major award
Venlo, The Netherlands, 2 September 2009 ─ Océ, an international leader in digital document management, today announced that its wide format Océ ColorWave® 600 printer has received the IDSA Bronze Award. Océ was honored for its “commitment to design excellence,” according to the jury report of the 2009 International Design Excellence Awards. Océ was awarded bronze in the Commercial and Industrial Products category.
Customers appreciate product and technology
Engineers and construction workers have been printing technical drawings on ordinary plain paper that can withstand moisture and the general rigors of a construction site since May 2008, when the Océ ColorWave 600 printing system was launched. The system offers customers high-speed printing, high-quality color and black & white images with sharp lines and easy readability of details, economical plain paper prints and a clean working environment.
“Award-winning technology on three continents”
“Both existing customers and prospects have applauded the Océ ColorWave 600 printer and the related innovative technology, Océ CrystalPoint®,” said Neil Westhof, International Product Marketing Manager, Océ Wide Format Color Products. “This Industrial Design Excellence Award is the North American equivalent of the European iF Design Award and the Good Design Award we received in Japan. This is the ninth time our product and technology have been honored and our design efforts have now been recognized on three continents.”
Best of both worlds
The Océ ColorWave uses Océ CrystalPoint technology to produce high-quality prints on plain and recycled paper. The technology combines the best of both toner and inkjet in one environmentally-sensitive machine. It is a clean and sustainable system: no ozone, no ink vapors, no system contamination. During the printing process, solid Océ TonerPearls® are converted into a toner gel which is jetted onto plain paper or other media surfaces. The toner gel droplets adhere to the media and the toner then crystallizes to produce direct-dry prints with a unique, even semi-gloss finish. The resulting crisp, high-quality prints are robust and water-fast.
