FULL PRESS RELEASE

Itella Information Sweden invests in full-color quality printing

Océ JetStream 1000 solution presents Itella with new business opportunities

Venlo, The Netherlands, 29 November 2009 - Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announces that Itella, a leading company in information logistics and invoice management, will install an Océ JetStream® 1000 in January 2011. This is the third JetStream installation in the Stockholm area. The Océ solution consists of a JetStream 1000 with Tecnau dynamic perforation equipment, supported by Océ PRISMA®production software.

Perfect partnership for Itella’s transition to full-color printing

Financial transactions company Itella Information provides services for financial transactional processes, from the management of purchase and sales invoices to the complete outsourcing of finance and accounting services. Itella's key customer industries are retail and wholesale trade, media, finance and telecommunications industries and the public sector.

Océ is an ideal business partner to guide Itella through the complex value chain from job submission to printed end results. Key functions that were missing were identified by carefully analyzing Itella's current b/w workflow. The new Océ JetStream 1000 will guarantee top-quality full-color printing products, plain white paper being transformed into dynamic full-color documents, thus reducing the need for storage of various preprinted customer logo papers. With this new solution in place, Itella takes an important step from b/w printing towards the attractive field of top-quality color printing.

Underscoring Océ’s leadership in high-volume digital production color

The Océ JetStream has been a success story from day one on. Already 100 Océ JetStream presses have been installed worldwide since product shipment started in mid 2008.

“Selling the Océ JetStream to Itella is once more a powerful proof of the market-leading performance of our inkjet technologies and business innovations for high-speed production color printing,” says Sebastian Landesberger, Executive Vice President, Océ Production Printing. “The Océ JetStream will help Itella maximize productivity in the company’s transaction print environments covering the entire business and process value chain. Itella can use the Océ JetStream 1000 to produce either ‘black only’ documents or full-color prints with the option of up to 6/6, all at production speeds and 600 dpi resolution.”

“We see increasing demands from the market in order to use technology to customize messages, such as our service Advoice, together with reducing costs resulting from preprinted paper. Inventory costs and the need to be more environmentally friendly by reducing paper waste, makes customers see many advantages with us offering color print,” says Tobias Wikström, Sales Director for Itella Information in Sweden.

Future-proof innovation for TransPromo and graphic arts

Consistent use of common components throughout the Océ JetStream series provides all the benefits of innovation at low risk. Common to the entire Océ JetStream family are Océ’s field proven DigiDot® inkjet technology and the high-performance SRA MP controller. Océ DigiDot drop-on-demand inkjet technology results in less ink consumption and lowers customers' operating costs. And its multilevel printing offers a finer gradation of dot sizes, hence a smoother image representation and a stronger appearance of fine details. The Océ JetStream’s SRA MP controller offers full-speed variable data printing in AFP/IPDS with built-in data integrity, error recovery and full-color management. It also includes the Adobe® Print Engine option, leveraging “ready-to-print” PDF forms and shells.

Itella’s new PRISMAproduction Server is a high performance workflow and output management system for TransPromo and graphic arts environments. The fully automated workflow administration ensures flexibility and stability and the professional spooling system includes data conversion and prepress workflow capabilities. The modular Océ PRISMAproduction Server is completely scalable, so it can grow with additional functionality when Itella needs it.
